Urban Data Hub (UD-Hub)

Currently, the administration uses various systems that work independently of each other for the respective specialist tasks. This means that a complete, cross-thematic assessment of an issue and the prompt initiation of measures is naturally a lengthy, often redundant and personnel-intensive process of collecting and coordinating information. Further networking of systems requires a corresponding data infrastructure to effectively introduce new digital technologies in a modern city.

Applications and services in a digital city cannot be effectively implemented without the networking of data through an urban data platform.

Based on this status quo, the Urban Data Hub, a cooperative project between the State Office of Geoinformation (LGV) and the City Science Lab (CSL), implements an urban data platform as a competence center and thus drives the integration and networking of standardized data and web services for Hamburg on its way to becoming a Digital City.

The CSL's task in the project focuses on scientific support - this includes identifying development needs and the prototypical realization of city cockpits. These are steps to make urban data available to different user groups in the city.
